Food Porn BBQ feat. my badass parents

Good day! How are you? I hope you've had a great weekend so far. I certainly have.

Last night, my parents decided they wanted to have a good old-fashioned barbecue. I didn't want to do any recipes, because I'm lazy, but here's a nice little narrated food porn gallery to feast your eyes on.

It all began with oysters. Kumamotos, to be exact. I shucked my very first one today, and got by with only a small stab wound in my left palm.

Next, kaki-pi. They're these Japanese rice cracker peanut things, and they're highly addictive and great for wasting time.

Otoro, with wasabi. And my father, Jim, who actually models on the side.

Prep for the 'cue: shiitake, ginko nuts, pickled shallots (not to be grilled), limes (ditto), tebasaki chicken wings, marinated squid and shrimp (they're hiding).

Now you can kinda see the shrimp.

The setting for our feast. That's San Francisco in the background, by the way.

A light rosé to go with dinner. And no, of course I didn't drink any. That'd be illegal. Duh.

Firing up that grill! I think I forgot to mention the eggplant- we usually like it drowned in ginger sauce.

While we waited for the grill to grill, we snacked some more, this time on these super sweet cherry tomatoes. That's Lulu, by the way. She's seventeen too.

A terrible photo of the squid, I am so sorry. I'll do better next time.

THE SHRIMP WAS SO GOOD Y'ALL + my sparkly pink nail polish

Our very last savory dish was a beautiful cut of wagyu. So good. So good.

I wish I wasn't such a terrible photographer- I promise that piece looked so much better in person.

Finally, for dessert, biwa. (They're either loquats or kumquats in English, I'm not sure). My mom grabbed some off the ground, and I climbed the tree.

That's it! Have a great day! I love you!
